Injured Spurs Star Dele Alli Will Not Face Ikechi Anya & Scotland In WCQ
Published: November 06, 2016
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli will not face Derby County’s ace Ikechi Anya when England tackle Scotland in a World Cup qualifier this coming Friday, with manager Mauricio Pochettino revealing that he is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in training.
The Spurs number 20, who is not in the squad for the North London derby, is also unlikely to be available for selection when the Three Lions meet Spain in an international friendly on Friday, November 15.
“Bad luck yesterday in the training session, he twisted his knee. We need to assess him today and tomorrow, ”
Pochettino said, according to tottenhamhotspur.com.
“He’ll be out for a few weeks. We hope it’s not a big issue. It’s bad luck he was in the team he’s an important player but that’s football.”
Alli, 20, has fifteen appearances under his belt for the senior team of England, scoring against France and Malta.
