Iwobi Continues Barren Run As Arsenal Settle For 1-1 Draw With Spurs

Super Eagles attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi was in action for 70 minutes as Arsenal settled for a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners manager, Arsene Wenger, continues to keep faith with the Hale End Academy product despite failing to score since April, and selected him in the starting XI ahead of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and fit again Wales star Aaron Ramsey.
Iwobi appeared nervous in the opening twenty minutes as he gave the ball away two or three times, and saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the 34th minute after Ozil and Alexis combined to release him.
On 39 minutes, Theo Walcott hit the post from long range and Ozil could not keep up with the pace of the ball.
Arsenal finally broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute when Kevin Wimmer scored in his own net as he tried to keep the ball away from Koscielny.
Arsenal were not as smooth as they were in the first half and were punished when Harry Kane leveled matters from the spot after the referee had awarded a penalty for Koscielny fouling Dembele in the box in the 51st minute.
Following the draw between the two North London rivals, Liverpool will go top if they beat Odion Ighalo’s Watford at Anfield later today.
