Exclusive: Racing Genk, Ndidi Rep Dismiss Newcastle United Link To Nigeria Midfielder
Published: November 15, 2016
Both Belgian club Racing Genk and the bonafide representative of Nigeria national-teamer Wilfred Ndidi have dismissed reports linking the midfielder with a January move to Championship high-flyers Newcastle United.
But if those reports that emanated from the British press are taken at face value, the defensive all-rounder will move to NE1 4ST when the transfer market reopens for eight million pounds, with Watford and Tottenham Hotspur also in the running for his signature.
Racing Genk Brand and Communication Manager Willem Boogaerts told allnigeriasoccer.com : “I have no information on the interest from Newcastle United, I know nothing about that.”
Ndidi’s bonafide representative added : “Ndidi came for national team duties, no talks have taken place with Newcastle United, Watford and Spurs. And Genk will definitely tell me if the interest is concrete.”
A product of famous grassroots club Nath Boys, Ndidi, 19, still has a valid contract with Racing Genk until the summer of 2020, having penned a new deal in February.
