Impressive Moses On Target As Chelsea Earn Bragging Rights Against Spurs
Published: November 26, 2016
Chelsea went back to the top of the Premier League standings on Saturday night after registering their seventh straight win against Tottenham Hotspur (2-1) in a London derby staged at Stamford Bridge.
A Christian Eriksen stunner from outside the box gave the visitors the lead in the eleventh minute, with Three Lions midfielder Dele Alli providing the assist.
In the 45th minute, The Blues were back on level terms thanks to Pedro, who was allowed to turn before he bent the ball over Lloris into the top corner.
Spurs struggled to cope in the early stages of the second half and were punished by one of Chelsea’s most improved players, Nigeria star Victor Moses in the 52nd minute.
The right wing-back forced the ball home after a cross to the far post by Diego Costa. The ball was going in despite ricocheting off a Spurs player.
That act was the most decisive moment of the game as both teams failed to score again before the final whistle.
Moses was substituted in the 81st minute, eight minutes after Dele Alli got replaced while Onomah was a non-playing sub.
