No Spartak Moscow Contract For Godwin Obaje, Fails Trials
Published: November 28, 2016
Wikki Tourists striker Godwin Obaje will continue his search for a foreign club ahead of the reopening of the winter transfer market.
The Super Eagles invitee has returned from Russia, where he tested with Spartak Moscow, but has not been offered a contract by the leadership of The Red-Whites.
Championat.com has reported that Obaje did not impress manager Massimo Carrera during training, and will not be offered a contract, contrary to speculations in his homeland that he is negotiating a five-year deal.
The 19-year-old finished as top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last term with 18 goals to his name.
In October 2015, Godwin Obaje had agreed terms with Slovakian side AS Trencin but the deal fell through at the last minute.
