The 16-year-old also got on the scoresheet in United States’ 7-1 rout of Portugal on Wednesday night.
Akinola provided the assist for Andrew Carleton’s goal just before the interval, before finding the net himself on the hour mark, then scored his second of the game seven minutes later.
The Canadian-born starlet started and played the full game against the Turkish opponents, while he subbed out in the 67th minute in the routine win against Portugal.
United States will win the 2016 Nike International Friendlies title if they avoid defeat against Brazil on Sunday, November 4.
