Nigeria Monitoring Charlton Athletic Wonderkid Lookman ; Striker Prefers England
Published: December 05, 2016
With two caps which came in friendly fixtures in June, it is all but confirmed that the highly-rated striker will make his competitive debut for England U19s in Tuesday night’s tie against France at the European U-19 Championship.
If that comes to pass, the Nigeria Football Federation will need to get approval from Fifa before Lookman can switch allegiance to Nigeria.
“We have put down names of those players to the Nigeria Football Federation as potential call ups, over 25 names for now playing well in their various clubs, ” Team Nigeria UK boss David Doherty told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“But at present Lookman is enjoying and focusing on England call ups, he is at the European U19s.”
Born in London 18 years ago, Ademola Lookman was named the Football League Championship Apprentice of the Year last season.
