Arsenal Star Iwobi Pleased To End Champions League Barren Run At 386 Minutes
Published: December 07, 2016
Arsenal attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi was pleased to score his first Champions League goal, and end an eight-month goal drought in all competitions in the process, but was more delighted that his team finished top of their group after PSG were held by Ludogorets in Paris.
The Nigeria international spent 386 minutes in total before breaking his duck in Europe’s premier club competition in his eighth appearance.
“Pleased To Get My First Champions League Goal But Most Importantly, Good To Finish Top Of The Group! ðð¾ #BIG17, ” Iwobi tweeted on Tuesday night shortly after the game in Switzerland.
The Hale End Academy product first made the Gunners 18-man squad for a Champions League game against Galatasaray back in December 2014, before he was handed his debut against Bayern Munich last season.
