Arsenal Nigerian Defender Faces Spell On The Sidelines After Injury Against Basel
Published: December 07, 2016
Nigerian defender Tolaji Bola faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with FC Basel in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday.
To add insult to injury, the Gunners U19 squad did not qualify for the knockout rounds of the Youth League after finishing behind PSG and Basel in Group A.
Bola had to be substituted around the half-hour mark due to his injury and the length of absence will be determined once he undergoes further tests in the coming days.
The central defender has suited up nine times for Arsenal U18s in the U18 Premier League this term, and made three appearances for the U21s in Premier League 2.
Aged 17, he is a very important member of England’s U18 squad.
