Arsenal Legend Advises Guardiola To Start Man City Talent Kelechi Iheanacho
Published: December 18, 2016
Arsenal legend Martin Keown wants Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho to start Sunday’s Premier League meeting between Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
The 20-year-old had been tipped by many to replace Sergio Aguero in the starting XI after he was handed a ban, but that has not been the case, with the Nigerian talent only lasting the distance versus Celtic in an inconsequential Champions League game 12 days ago.
“Kelechi Iheanacho did not feature against Watford but I would start him down the middle in this system against Arsenal, ” Keown said in his column in the Daily Mail.
“Guardiola and Arsene Wenger have similar philosophies. This could be a very open game, but that is not what Arsenal will want.”
Last season, Iheanacho was an non-playing substitute at the Emirates while he was in action for 71 minutes in the reverse fixture in May.
