Arsenal Nigerian Striker Resumes Full Training After Injury
Published: December 24, 2016
Arsenal young star Chuba Akpom has resumed full training with the first-team squad ahead of their Boxing Day fixture with West Brom at the Emirates.
The England U21 international joined the likes of Ramsey, Welbeck and Mertesacker at the practice session held at London Colney on Saturday.
Because of a back injury, Akpom has not kicked a ball in a competitive fixture for the Gunners since he took to the pitch in the 4-0 rout of Nottingham Forest in the League Cup on September 20.
The 20-year-old had been tipped to get more first team opportunities this term after starring in pre-season, but has been largely used by the U23s coach, with established internationals Sanchez, Walcott and Giroud ahead of him in the pecking order.
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi was also involved in today’s workout.
