More Praise For City Young Star Iheanacho : Deadly In Front Of Goal
Published: December 28, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho has been making the back pages at home and abroad having impressed for Manchester City while Sergio Aguero was serving out his suspension.
With 12 goals from 19 shots on target, Daily Mirror’s Jack Rathborn thinks the Nigeria international is one of the deadliest strikers in the history of the English top-flight.
He wrote : “The Nigeria international struck in the 3-0 victory at Hull on Boxing Day, improving to 12 goals in 38 Premier League games.
“That, at a rate of a goal every 96 minutes, makes him the prolific striker in the league’s history from those with a minimum of 10 goals.
“Those 12 strikes have come from just 19 shots on goal, proving how deadly the 20-year-old is in front of goal. ”
It remains to be seen if manager Pep Guardiola will hand Iheanacho more playing opportunities in the second half of the season with the Citizens set to officially welcome Gabriel Jesus to the Etihad next week and Aguero set to return.
