Catch up on the performances of players of Nigerian descent in the English Premier League on Saturday, December 31.

Victor Anichebe was forced off with injury as Sunderland were humiliated 4-1 by Burnley at Turf Moor. The Nigeria international was replaced before the start of the second half.

Young stars Joel Asoro and Josh Maja didn’t suit up for the Black Cats.

At Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea equaled Arsenal’s Premier League record they set back in the 2001-2002 season after winning their 13th game on the spin versus Stoke City. It finished 4-2.
