Sunderland Striker Anichebe Ruled Out For Three Weeks With Hamstring Injury
Published: January 01, 2017
Victor Anichebe faces a minimum of three weeks on the sidelines after sustaining an injury in Sunderland’s 4-1 loss to Burnley on Saturday in the Premier League.
Anichebe limped off in the closing minutes of the first half at Turf Moor, and Black Cats manager David Moyes has confirmed that the Nigeria international has damaged his left hamstring.
“Victor has pulled his hamstring,” Moyes told reporters in his post match comments.
“I’ve not checked with the medical team as yet how bad or good it is at the moment, so we’ll just have to see how he is.”
Anichebe could miss games against Liverpool, Stoke City and West Brom plus the rematch with Burnley in the FA Cup.
