Arsenal Starlet Iwobi Tells Premier League : I Will Fight For The First Goal, Take The Second
Published: January 14, 2017
Alex Iwobi says he will fight for Arsenal’s second goal against Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday.
In the second half, the Nigeria international saw two of his efforts turned into the net by Jack Cork and Kyle Naughton, but he has insisted that the first of the goals should be awarded to him since it was on target.
The official website of the Premier League has awarded both goals to the aforementioned Swansea City players for the time being.
“I’m claiming the first one! It’s on target so I’m going to claim that one,” Iwobi told arsenal.com
“Second one I can let slide, but the first one is definitely my goal.
“It was quite big [the deflection] I’m not saying, but they all go in, they all count. But that one at least, I’m praying it’s my goal.”
Alex Iwobi made his 26th appearance of the season across all competitions against the Welsh team.
