England U20 international of Nigerian ancestry Ademola Lookman says Charlton manager Karl Robinson played a key role behind his decision to join Everton ahead of his other suitors.
The exciting winger was linked with possible moves to Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton before he penned a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Toffees in the January transfer window.
Speaking to Everton matchday programme, Lookman said : ““Karl spoke to me about Everton and gave me an insight into the club..
“He told me that it was a very good club to go to and that they would develop me as a player and a person.
“Karl really did a lot for me in the short space of time I worked with him. I appreciated everything he has done for me.”
Lookman could make his debut for Everton when they host Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
