Highest Paid Nigerian Player Fires Hat-Trick For Chinese Club

Nigeria international Obafemi Martins bagged a hat-trick in Shanghai Shenhua&rsquo;s 5-0 rout of YSCC Yokohama in a pre-season friendly on Thursday, January 18.<br /><br />Zhu Jianrong and Mao Jianqing each scored a goal for Shanghai Shenhua, who are preparing for their first competitive game of 2017, an Asian Champions League tie in February. <br /><br />After a slow start to his career in China, Martins ended the 2016 season with 15 goals ( 4 assists) and was rewarded with a new deal on the back of those performances. <br /><br />The former Inter Milan and Newcastle United striker is the highest paid Nigerian professional player, with wages of nine million dollars per season. <br /><br />Igho Kingsley <br /><br /><span>Photo Credit : </span><span>Shanghai Greenland Shenhua</span>
