Kevin Akpoguma has brightened his chances of playing for his country of birth, Germany.
The central defender is known to have snubbed the advances of the Nigeria Football Federation, who have contacted him to play for the Super Eagles, admitting that he fancies his chances of playing for the senior team of Germany.
That dream could be a reality with news that Akpoguma, who has blossomed into one of the best defenders in the 2 Bundesliga, will return to parent club TSG Hoffenheim before the start of the 2017-2018 season.
“Kevin has developed positively and shows consistently attractive performances. We are very satisfied with this development, ” Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann told Rheinische Post.
This season, Akpoguma has 18 appearances under his belt for Fortuna Düsseldorf in all competitions, logging 1,610 minutes.
