Leicester City Boss Explains Why Musa Was Substituted Vs Manchester United
Published: February 05, 2017
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has cleared the air on why he had to be substitute Super Eagles assistant skipper Ahmed Musa before the start of the second half in their 3-0 loss to Manchester United.
The Italian gaffer has suggested that Musa making way for midfielder Andy King was only a tactical substitution as the Red Devils had more men in midfield.
Ranieri said in his post-match reaction : “When you concede two goals it’s tough to go back. We spoke about the opportunity to start strongly and faster than the first half.
“I wanted to help my players in the middle as they had one midfielder more. After the third goal it was difficult.”
Musa, 24, has 18 games under his belt in the Premier League this term, including seven starts.
