Chelsea Prospect Ugbo Tallies 12th Goal Of The Season Against Reading
Published: February 06, 2017
Ike Ugbo scored his 12th goal of the season in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Reading in a Premier League 2 tie on Sunday.
With Fikayo Tomori spending the rest of the season at Brighton, only two players of Nigerian descent - strikers Dominic Solanke and Ike Ugbo - were expected to start at Electrical Services Stadium, and both put in a full shift.
An own goal from Dickie broke the deadlock after 18 minutes, before Ugbo netted from close range to give the Blues a two-goal advantage three minutes out of intermission.
Chelsea have only lost once in Premier League 2 this season when the Nigerian has found the net, the 2-1 defeat to Reading on September 19.
The 18-year-old Ugbo joined Chelsea as an Under-10 and began his career as a midfielder before a change in position.
