Published: February 11, 2017
Arsenal added three points to the bag following a hard-fought 2-0 win over Hull City on game week 25 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at the Emirates Stadium.
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi started his 17th Premier League game this season, before he made way for Danny Welbeck with eight minutes remaining.
Chile star Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring in the 34th minute when he poked home from close range after Jakupovic kept out Gibbs’s initial strike.
On 63 minutes, Iwobi had a chance to increase the lead after he was found by Ozil but lashed his effort over the bar.
Sanchez became the leading goalscorer in the Premier League with 17 goals after he converted his spot kick in the third minute of stoppage time.
Following the win, the Gunners are provisionally third in the standings, level on 50 points with Tottenham Hotspur, who have a superior goal difference.
