Yakubu Shows Flashes Of Brilliance On Coventry Debut Ten Months After Last Game

Out-of-favour Nigeria international Yakubu Aiyegbeni was handed his Coventry City debut by manager Russell Slade in his team’s 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon in League One on Tuesday night.
Two days ago, Monday, the Sky Blues had announced the acquisition of the former Everton star until the end of this season following a successful trial.
Yakubu replaced Marcus Tudgay on 61 minutes at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, his first competitive match since April 10, 2016 when he tasted action for three minutes versus Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Super Eagle showed some encouraging signs despite being inactive for ten months before the clash against AFC Wimbledon.
The 34-year-old has netted over 130 goals in English football.
