Arsenal Scout Watches Ex-Target Iheanacho Make Cameo Vs Monaco
Published: March 16, 2017
Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi witnessed the Champions League meeting between Monaco and Manchester City at Stade Louis II on Wednesday night.
The former Gunners defender, who is the club’s chief scout in France, came to run the rule over the stars playing for both teams.
Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho had only six-plus minutes to show off to Grimandi after coming on as a late substitute.
The Taye Academy product was one of the two Golden Eaglets stars linked with a concrete transfer to Arsenal, the other being Chidiebere Nwakali, after starring at the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup.
Iheanacho’s Nigerian club scuppered the proposed move to the Emirates because they had a problem with the agent brokering the deal.
