Published: April 09, 2017
Everton maintained their push for a Europa League spot after snatching a 4-2 win over Premier League champs Leicester City at Goodison Park on Sunday evening.
Toffees rising star Tom Davies equaled the fastest goal scored in the Premier League this season when he opened the scoring after 30 seconds following a brilliant run from Ross Barkley.
Goals from Islam Slimani and Marc Albrighton put the Foxes 2-1 up before top scorer Lukaku equalized on 23 minutes after Barkley's brilliant cross from the right, and the home team went back in front thanks to Jagielka's header four minutes before half-time.
There was only one goal in the second half, Lukaku netted his 23rd goal of the season and extended Everton's lead in the 57th minute.
Ahead of Leicester City's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi, who has played 52 games for clubs and country this season this season, was given the day off.
Ahmed Musa showed flashes of brilliance and urgency when he appeared off the bench after 61 minutes, but the outcome of the game was already decided.
