Moses Wins Penalty, Alli Strikes Again As Chelsea See Off Spurs At National Stadium
Published: April 22, 2017
Super Eagles star Victor Moses and Spurs midfielder Dele Alli worked a full shift for their respective teams.
Willian, with a superb free-kick, gave the Blues the lead after five minutes, only for Harry Kane to equalize with a clever header on 18 minutes.
Antonio Conte's side were on the back foot after Spurs restored parity but retook the lead against the run of play courtesy of another goal from Willian.
Heung-Min Son did not get his tackle right, bringing down Moses in the area, and the Brazilian converted the resultant penalty.
Six minutes into the second half, Dele Alli's left-footed half volley into the corner of the net brought things level after a ball measured to perfection from Christian Eriksen.
The PFA Young Player of the Year nominee bought himself a booking when his boot clipped Moses's leg on 73 minutes.
Chelsea struck the next blow, Hazard drilled the ball into the net after he was left unmarked, before some strike from Matic won the tie for the Stamford Bridge outfit and sent them into the final.
