Fidelis Irhene Returns To Porto But Undecided About Future
Published: May 22, 2017
Fidelis Christopher Irhene who played his last game for Portimonense SC on Sunday in the second tier of Portuguese football has exclusively told allnigeriasoccer.com his parent club, FC Porto want him back.
However, he is not sure if he will be with the former European champions for next season as he will favour a move that
would have him play regular first team football next season.
Fidelis, who has been on loan at Portimonense SC from Porto in the last two years, played an important role in helping the side gain promotion to the Portuguese Primera Liga with his virtuoso performance in midfield for the modest side.
He is not ruling out a permanent move from Porto to the side but said that would solely depend on the level of discussions between Porto, Portimonense and his representatives on his future.
He was in action for only 19 minutes in Portimonense's 2-1 away win at Santa Clara and was replaced by Ewerton
following injury concerns.
Another Nigerian at the Club, World Under-17 Champion with Nigeria in 2013, Chidera Ezeh was a late introduction for Paulinho in the tie.
Fidelis organized a grassroots football competition for youths in Tudun Wada area of Jos and is expected to fly into Nigeria from Portugal to grace the final of the competition this week.
