Nigerian Striker On Target On World Cup Debut, Tries The Spectacular As Germany Beat Vanuatu

Germany face an anxious wait to discover if the made it to the knockout rounds of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 after beating tiny nation Vanuatu 3-2 in their final Group B fixture at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Friday.
Fortuna Düsseldorf striker Emmanuel Iyoha and Hertha BSC new kid on the block Jordan Torunarigha, who have Nigerian blood in their veins, started for the European powerhouse and went the distance.
At 3-0 it looked done and dusted that the Germans will qualify for the next round, thanks to Kentu-Malcolm Badu and Fabian Reese's first-half efforts and a close range finish from Iyoha in the second half.
On 50 minutes, Reese unselfishly squared the ball to Iyoha leaving him with the simple task of tapping it in, but the Germans lost control of the game as Bong Kalo bagged a brace to make it 3-2.
In second-half stoppage time, Iyoha, who was making his World Cup debut, tried a beautiful volley as he attempted to restore Germany's two-goal cushion but his spectacular effort went just over the bar.
Those Vanuatu goals made all the difference and Germany finished third in the group, level on four points with Mexico but with an inferior goal difference.
