England set a European record after their U21 national team qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing European Championship in Poland.

Eight players of Nigerian descent helped England achieve the unique feat.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Timothy Eyoma assisted England qualify for the final of the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Croatia.
Liverpool midfielders Ovie Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo, Chelsea duo Dominic Solanke and Fikayo Tomori, Tottenham Hotspur's Josh Onomah and Everton sensation Ademola Lookman played key roles as England U20s won the World Cup for the first time in history this month.
Two players of Nigerian parentage in Tammy Abraham and Dominic Iorfa made England squad for the U21 EURO, but only the Chelsea wonderkid has been handed game time in the competition after three games.
