Super Eagles Star Peter Utaka Back Among The Goals For FC Tokyo
Published: July 02, 2017
Out-of-favour Nigeria international Peter Utaka returned to scoring ways but could not prevent his side FC Tokyo from losing 3-1 to Cerezo Osaka on game week seventeen in the J League on Sunday, July 2.
The 33-year-old netted his first goal in the Japanese top flight since April 1 when he opened the scoring at the KINCHO Stadium (Ōsaka) after 21 minutes.
Before the deadlock was broken, Utaka came closest with a long range volley, and few minutes later he tapped in from close range after Nagai had robbed the last line of defense.
His other goals this season were against Kawasaki Front, Sagan Tosu, Vegalta Sendai and Omiya Ardija.
FC Tokyo is Peter Utaka's sixth club in Asia following spells with Dalian Aerbin, Beijing Guoan, Shanghai Shenxin, Shimizu S-Pulse and Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
