English-Born Nigerian Midfielder Demands N3.7 Billion Per Season Wages To Join Tottenham
Published: July 19, 2017
Tottenham Hotspur will have to meet the wage demands of English-born Nigerian midfielder Ross Barkley if they are interested in signing him this summer.
According to the Mirror, Barkley is is demanding a whopping £150,000-a-week deal (approximately N3.7 billion every year) to join the London club.
The attacking midfielder will earn more than Spurs star men Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris, who both pocket £120,000-per-week, if his salary demands are met.
Barkley's contract with Everton runs out at the end of the 2017-18 season, and the Toffees higher-ups wanted him to remain at the club and offered him a new deal, but he refused to sign it.
The 23-year-old was earlier linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, but Spurs are presumably in pole position to secure his services if he departs Goodison Park.
He was left out of Everton's pre-season trips to Tanzania and Netherlands due to a 'groin injury'.
