English FA Pays Chelsea's Nigerian-Born Striker N19 Million, 'Bullied' By Coaches
Published: August 07, 2017
The English FA has paid Nigerian-born Eniola Aluko 40,000 pounds (approximately N19 million) after the striker claimed she was bullied out of England women's squad.
The Daily Mail says the Chelsea star quit the national team because players were 'undermined and belittled' by coaching staff.
The FA conducted an internal and independent investigation, which found no wrong-doing by England manager Mark Sampson and his staff.
In her eight-page complaint, Aluko claimed she was bullied and harassed for two years, and added that England's Three Lionesses squad was not selected on merit but popularity.
Born in Lagos, Eniola Aluko has played 102 times for England's senior team, scoring 33 goals.
