Man Utd Ready To Break Transfer Record For An English Teenager Again, Eye Fulham LB
Published: August 21, 2017
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Fulham teen sensation Ryan Sessegnon, as per reports.
Tottenham Hotspur have been monitoring the England youth international for about a year, but now face competition from the Red Devils, according to the online edition of Sky Sports.
The 17-year-old Sessegnon is one of the hottest prospects in English football and has been linked with all the big teams in the Premier League, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
The Sun has reported that a bid to lure Sessegnon away from Craven Cottage would likely make him the most expensive English teenage player ever.
Manchester United broke the transfer record for an English teenager when they spent £30 million to secure the signature of Wayne Rooney from Everton in 2004, meaning the Old Trafford side must be prepared to spend more than that figure for the acquisition of the Fulham left back.
The Cottagers are reluctant to sell but United are planning to buy the defender and loan him immediately to the Championship club, like the case of Tottenham's capture of Dele Alli.
