Chelsea Coach Conte's Premier League Record Broken Despite Win At Tottenham Hotspur
Published: August 22, 2017
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte failed to use up all his three substitutes in his team's 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur at the start of this week.
The Italian was the only manager to have used all his three substitutes in every Premier League game over the course of the 2016-2017 campaign.
And the former Juventus gaffer continued that trend when he introduced álvaro Morata, Charly Musonda and Andreas Christensen against Burnley on the opening day of the season.
Against Tottenham, Pedro and Batshuayi subbed in with twelve minutes remaining, and Conte resisted the temptation to bring in one more substitute in the closing minutes, with Chelsea leading 2-1 thanks to Marcos Alonso's goal.
Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori was among the five players that did not come off the bench in the London derby at Wembley.
