Iwobi Doubtful To Face Liverpool As Arsenal Insider Confirms Absence From Training
Published: August 27, 2017
Alex Iwobi is unlikely to feature for Arsenal when they take on Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, August 27.
The Nigerian Football Federation announced earlier today that the Hale End Academy product has withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad owing to injury concerns.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has independent confirmation from an Arsenal insider that Iwobi might not be feigning injury as he has not been sighted training with the Gunners first-team squad in recent days.
''He hasn't been involved in the last couple of sessions as far as I'm aware,'' Arsenal youth-team expert Jeorge Bird told allnigeriasoccer.com when asked to confirm if Iwobi trained with the first team on Friday.
The 21-year-old Iwobi came off the bench in the 79th minute in Arsenal's last competitive fixture against Stoke City last weekend.
