Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle to sign the highly-rated Monaco winger Thomas Lemar when the January transfer window opens for business, as per reports.
The Daily Star is reporting that the France international is poised to append his signature to a five-year deal and Monaco are set to be paid 92 million pounds (N42.8 billion) in transfer fees.
Lemar will pocket in the region of 250,000 pounds weekly wages in his multi-year contract with the Gunners.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger attempted to sign the Frenchman in the last hours of the summer transfer window, but could not agree on a deal with the player and Monaco.
Manchester United were weighing up a move for Lemar this summer, according to Daily Record, however, he chose to stay put at Monaco at the close of the window.
Thomas Lemar started France's two World Cup qualifiers against Netherlands and Luxembourg during the first international break of this season, and netted twice against the Dutch.
