Published: September 09, 2017
Jürgen Klopp suffered suffered his heaviest loss as a Premier League manager after Liverpool were humiliated 5-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Citizens Nigerian defender Tosin Adarabioyo presumably watched the game from the stands as he wasn't included in the match day squad, while England youth international Dominic Solanke entered into the fray for the visitors on 67 minutes.
Argentina international Sergio Aguero gave Manchester City the lead in the 24th minute, slotting home after he found himself in a 1 on 1 situation with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Premier League Player of the Month for August 2017 Sadio Mane received a straight red card after a dangerous play against Ederson Moraes in the 37th minute.
Manchester City doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time through Gabriel Jesus, who timed his run and headed home after an excellent delivery from Kevin de Bruyne.
An unselfish Sergio Aguero set up Jesus for Manchester City's third goal in the 53rd minute and it became 4-0 when substitute Leroy Sane volleyed the ball into the back of the net with 13 minutes left on the clock.
But Pep Guardiola's side were not done yet with Sane grabbing his second goal with a shot from just outside the box in stoppage time.
Former Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria was not listed by Liverpool for the fourth game in a row.
