Kelechi Nwakali Starts For VVV Venlo In 5-1 Loss To Monchengladbach
Published: September 13, 2017
Manager Maurice Steijn decided to give a run-out to a number of players that were not named in the starting eleven in Sunday's clash against FC Groningen, plus the reserve team players.
But it backfired with the Bundesliga side thrashing VVV Venlo 5-1 in the behind-closed-doors friendly.
Raúl Bobadilla, Julio Villalba, Jonas Hofmann (2) and Cuisance registered their names on the score-sheet for Borussia Mönchengladbach, while Jonathan Opoku scored a consolation for the visitors.
Nwakali has been loaned out by Arsenal for the whole of the 2017-2018 campaign, as he's not yet eligible to play in the English Premier League due to the strict work permit requirements.
The Nigeria U20 international ensured VVV Venlo grabbed a point against FC Groningen when he netted in the second minute of second-half stoppage time.
