Swansea City Coach Wants Tammy Abraham To Choose England Over Nigeria
Published: September 21, 2017
Swansea City coach Paul Clement has revealed that he wants Tammy Abraham to represent the senior national team of England, but has stressed that he won't influence the striker's decision.
The Nigeria Football Federation have all but confirmed that Abraham is set to pledge his international future to the Super Eagles despite the fact that he is a key member of England U21 squad.
''There would be more travel involved, but whatever he chooses to do is up to him,'' Clement was quoted as saying by walesonline.co.uk.
''From a personal point of view I would like him to stay with England. I say that because I am English and he is a talent you want involved in the national side.''
The former Chelsea assistant manager added : ''I have no idea what Tammy will do, he has come through the English system puts him at an advantage.
"I will give advice if he wants it, but I will not try to influence him. It is down to him and his family."
Nigeria Football Federation boss Amaju Pinnick holds close links with Tammy Abraham's dad and is very confident that the striker will represent the Super Eagles ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
