Published: September 22, 2017
Nigerian wonderkid Kelechi Nwakali made his full debut for VVV Venlo in their 3-0 thrashing of Blauw Geel '38 in the first round of the KNVB Beker on Thursday night.
The Arsenal loanee played the full game with 1,850 spectators watching at Prins Willem Alexander Sportpark (Veghel).
Before yesterday's match, Nwakali appeared off the bench against FC Groningen and Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie, logging 30 minutes.
The number 25 was deployed as an attacking midfielder by manager Steijn, operating ahead of Clint Leemans and captain Danny Post in a three-man midfield.
First half goals from Damian van Bruggen, Etienne Amenyido and Terry Antonis were enough for VVV Venlo to secure a win.
Kelechi Nwakali is in line to make his home debut for the Limburg based club against Kingsley Ehizibue's PEC Zwolle on Sunday afternoon.
