Italy international Davide Zappacosta is prepared to challenge Victor Moses for a first-team spot, following his transfer to Chelsea from Torino in the summer transfer window.
Since completing his move to the Premier League champs, the right wing-back has started only two matches, against Qarabag in the Champions League and a League Cup fixture against Nottingham Forest.
Moses is leading the way as Conte's preferred candidate for the right wing-back role, with the Nigeria international starting four matches in all competitions since the arrival of Zappacosta.
''I am convinced that I am well suited to the style of football in England, probably even more so than Italian football,'' Zappacosta told Chelsea's matchday programme, according to Metro.
''There is more space because the intensity is higher and the game is much quicker, so I can look to exploit that.
''I believe this is one of the best places to play football in the world, and I want to be involved in it for as long as possible.
''He (Conte) has shown a lot of faith in me. Firstly with the call-up to the Italy squad in 2016 and also now by signing me for Chelsea.''
Moses was rested as Chelsea lost 1-0 to Manchester City in their final game before the second international break of the 2017-18 season.
