Moses-Less Chelsea Win Six-Goal Thriller Against Watford
Published: October 21, 2017
Premier League champions Chelsea, who were without Victor Moses, returned to winning ways after beating Watford 4-2 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Pedro fired Chelsea into a 12th minute lead but the two sides went in all-square at half-time after Abdoulaye Doucoure restored parity for the Golden Boys in injury time.
Three minutes into the second half, Roberto Pereyra controlled the ball and slotted home after Richarlison's pass to give Watford a 2-1 lead.
On 71 minutes, Michy Batshuayi headed home a cross from Pedro Rodriguez before Cesar Azpilicueta steered a pinpoint header beyond Gomes to make it 3-2 on 87 minutes.
The home side added a fourth in the 95th minute when Batshuayi capitalized on a mix-up and scored.
In the provisional standings, the Blues sit fourth on the table with 16 points, while Watford are fifth with one point less.
Nigeria international Isaac Success is still receiving treatment, so wasn't included in the Hornets 18.
