Ighalo Outshines Cameroon International Striker Again In Changchun Yatai Win
Published: October 22, 2017
Changchun Yatai made it back-to back wins in the Chinese Super League after beating Jiangsu Suning FC 3-1 in the Chinese Super League on Sunday, with in-form Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo writing his name on the score-sheet again.
Inside the opening minute, Cameroon international Benjamin Moukandjo gave the visitors the lead, but Ighalo volleyed his side level in the 29th minute.
From there, Changchun Yatai were on top and went in front four minutes into the second half, courtesy of Yu Rui, who headed home after a free-kick that was floated into the box.
On 82 minutes, an unselfish Ighalo squared the ball to an unmarked Du Zhenyu, and his left foot strike could not be stopped by goalkeeper Zhang Sipeng.
The Super Eagles striker has scored 15 league goals from 26 starts, and he's among the top five strikers in China at the moment, statistically speaking.
Last weekend, Odion Ighalo made himself available for selection for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Algeria and the high-profile friendly versus Argentina on November 14.
