Moses Simon Scores Two Penalties As Gent Thrash Eupen
Published: October 25, 2017
Nigerian attackers,Samuel Kalu and Simon Moses helped power KAA Gent to a 3-0 victory against Eupen in the Belgian topflight on Tuesday evening, with the later finding the back of the net twice while the former chipped in with an assist.
The Buffaloes who are unbeaten in their last three matches in the division wasted little time to get going as Kalu set up Yuya Kubo who struck to ensure his side were cruising from the onset,as early as the third minute.
Yves Vanderhaeghe's men never looked like relinquishing their strong hold on the game and Eupen gave further helping hand, Nana Asare clattering into the effervescent Simon in the box to concede a penalty in the 23rd minute with the 22-year-old coolly stepping up to send Van Crombrugge the wrong way.
And Eupen's defensive discipline was further questioned yet again after Jordan Loties committed another bad foul in the box to allow Moses net his second of the night and take his tally to three in his last two outings.
Both Nigerians were on for the entire duration of the game, with Kalu getting in the referee's book in the 71st minute.
With this result, Gent move up to 12th on the 16-team league log having garnered 13 points after 12 games while their opponents are two places below in 14th with just nine points after the same number of games.
