Published: November 04, 2017
Chelsea U18s delivered an attacking masterclass and a solid defensive showing to thrash Brighton a& Hove Albion 3-0 in their second game of the U18 Premier League Cup on Saturday afternoon.
England U19 international Tariq Uwakwe was the only player with ancestral ties to Nigeria named in the Blues starting line-up.
Four of England U17 World Cup winners George McEachran, Marc Guéhi, Jonathan Panzo and Conor Gallagher started for the Blues at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.
Chelsea were 2-0 up at the interval thanks to goals from Redan and Guehi, before Brown tapped in to increase their lead just before the hour mark.
Chelsea, who have four points after two games, will need to finish first in Group B, which also includes Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United to ensure a place in the quarter-finals.
The two best second-placed teams in the six groups will also qualify for the last eight.
