Alex Iwobi On Manchester City's Third Goal Vs Arsenal : It Was Offside
Published: November 06, 2017
Without a doubt, Alex Iwobi has stated that Manchester City's third goal in the Premier League encounter against Arsenal should not have stood because it was offside.
Indeed, television replays confirmed as much, as Gabriel Jesus tapped home from close range in the 74th minute after he was fed by Silva, who was in an offside position.
''We were pushing to get the equaliser but unfortunately the referee wasn’t able to see that it was offside. There’s nothing that you can do, we just have to move on to the next game,'' Iwobi told arsenal.com.
Arsene Wenger's team started the game brightly but it was the Citizens that took the lead through Kevin de Bruyne in the 19th minute after Iwobi had given the ball away.
''Maybe we weren’t composing ourselves like we were in the first 10 or 15 minutes. ''
''Man City are a very good team and you have to give credit to them, but I believe the result doesn’t show how well we did,'' the number seventeen added.
