Chelsea And Man Utd Dealt Major Blow As Transfer Target Signs New Contract
Published: November 18, 2017
Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Fiorentina wonderkid Federico Chiesa as the winger may snub a move to England after penning a new contract.
The Viola have announced on their official website that Chiesa has penned a one-year contract extension, tying him to the club until June 30, 2022.
The Italy U21 international was strongly linked with Chelsea and Manchester United this summer, while Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Paris Saint Germain and Inter Milan have been credited with an interest.
Viola Nation has reported that Chiesa's wages have risen to €2 million a year, which equates to just under 40 thousand a week.
This season, the 20-year-old has found the net twice in the Italian Serie A from eleven appearances, while providing three assists.
He joined Fiorentina ten years ago from U.S. Settignanese.
