Ex-Flying Eagles star Alhaji Gero suffered a nasty injury in östersunds FK's 2-0 win over Zorya in the Europa League on Thursday night, which led to his substitution in the 85th minute at Jämtkraft Arena.
östersunds FK doctor had feared that the Nigerian suffered a brain injury in a duel with a Zorya defender, but he has played down those reports , saying he will be back on the pitch training again next Tuesday, November 28.
''No, I don't have a brain injury, I just got a kick in my face, it's not serious'' said Alhaji Gero to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''I just went to the hospital to check if I got some serious problems, so I was free to go home last night after the checkup.
''I am really good, I will start training on Tuesday morning, that's what the doctor said.''
östersunds FK's first goal on the night in the 40th minute was initially credited to Gero but was later given as Grechyshkin's own goal.
The Swedish club progressed to the knock out rounds with a game to spare following the win against Zorya.
