Moses Benched As Chelsea Play Out 1-1 Draw At Liverpool
Published: November 25, 2017
Nigerian international Victor Moses who has recovered from injury was elected to start from the bench in the encounter.
Hazard worked Simon Mignolet with a sizzling strike 18 minutes in which the Belgian goalkeeper did well to parry to safety before Zappacosta went close with a long range drive which Mignolet equally dealt with.
Mohammed Salah was next to threaten for Liverpool, turning out Gary Cahill on the edge of the box before curling a shot wide of the right hand post just before the break.
The second period continued in frenzied fashion, with both sides snatching on half chances before Salah who looked terrific for the hosts broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, connecting with a Phillipe
Coutinho's pass to slot past an onrushing Thibaut Courtois.
Chelsea pushed for an equalizer moments later, Marcos Alonso shooting wide after Hazard had played him through before Wijnaldum squeezed an effort which deflected wide at the other end as Jurgen Klopp's side threatened to add to the deficit.
Willian who came on for Zappacosta would eventually level matters on the 85th minute, chipping a delightful ball over Mignolet to earn Chelsea a share of the spoils.
Dominic Solanke was not selected for the clash though while Moses could not make it off the bench.
