Chelsea Midfielder, Labelled The Next Frank Lampard, Sets New Record In Europe
Published: November 27, 2017
Chelsea loanee Mason Mount put in a stunning display at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome as Dutch Eredivisie outfit Vitesse played out a 1-1 draw by Lazio in the Europa League on match day five.
The England U19 international set a new record in the Europa League which has been praised by his primary employer Chelsea.
''Mount put himself in the record books as he created eight chances in the match, more than any other teenager has ever done in a single game in the competition’s history,'' Chelsea wrote on their official website in their weekly review of their players loaned out.
On the back of his imperious display against the Italian opponents, Mount was handed his full Eredivisie debut in Vitesse's 2-0 win over Tyronne Ebuehi's ADO Den Haag on Sunday.
Mount has been likened to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard by Calciomercato.com.
He took over from Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori as Chelsea's Academy Player of the Year in May, and made the shortlist for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award.
