Adekanye Wins Penalty, Ejaria Features In Liverpool Loss To Sparta Prague PL Intl Cup

Bobby Adekanye and England U20 World Cup-winning midfielder Ovie Ejaria were both in action for Liverpool U23s in their narrow 1-0 loss to Sparta Prague in a Premier League International Cup clash at Prenton Park on Tuesday evening.
It was goalless at the break but both teams had chances to open the scoring, with Ben Woodburn and Julis coming close in the 19th and 30th minute respectively.
Three minutes before half-time, Adekanye earned Liverpool a penalty but Wilson missed from 12 yards out.
Liverpool threatened in the second half but could not find a way past the goalkeeper and were left to rue their missed chances after Srdan Placsic netted the game-winner with five minutes remaining.
The Czech Republic side held on to their lead until the final whistle.
In their next fixture in the Premier League International Cup, the Reds host PSV Eindhoven in their final group game on December 19.
The two players of Nigerian descent put in a full shift for the Anfield side.
